My Reflection
I have finally decided that I am going to get off my lazy butt and do the things I want to do. I am going to quit thinking about them and actually DO THEM. I read blogs every day, follow blogger's on twitter, and think every day I wish I could blog about how I feel, what I am doing, and lessons I learn.
So, finally I am going to commit myself to writing here. A place I can document my goals, my experiences, and most importantly what I’ve learned from them. I want this blog to be my personal reflection journal. I want to hold myself accountable for being proactive in continuing to improve myself – in my career, my health, and my relationships.
Often, I focus on what I am NOT doing, what I am doing WRONG, often a negative based outlook and sometimes an all or nothing attitude. Along with reading and following other health living blogs, I will begin my own as a commitment to making myself a happier and healthier person. I will be able to document my progress and go back and see what I have accomplished.
I want to be healthy, both physically and mentally fit. I love challenging myself physically. I have run one marathon, 6 half marathons, several 5k’s, and a sprint triathlon. I try to be as healthy as I can with my food choices, but lately I’ve regressed and would like to get back on the right track (also with my weight). I suffer from anxiety and often have a negative outlook. I have emotions and feelings that I haven’t dealt with which has altered my relationship I have with food and my self esteem. I’m hard on myself and often do not think I am good enough. My biggest goal is to improve my mental outlook. Learn from my experiences. Track my progress and improve how I feel about myself. My mental health is something that I often ignore. I identify an issue, convince myself I’m not okay, but then forget about it.
This is my reflection.
